Body/Mind/Relationship WorkIn my private practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families. Issues I specialize in include:
I offer supportive and effective body/mind/relationship work to help you become aware of and find resolution for the issues that can keep you from feeling fulfilled and empowered in your daily life and relationships The mind/body work I do combines the Core Energetics approach of John Pierrakos, MD, with Process Work, developed by Dr. Arnold Mindell. My work utilizes and supports an ever-growing process of awareness. This awareness can become a powerful vehicle to experientially enter into patterns and blocks, and explore the new directions, potentials, feelings, and behaviors that are often hidden inside of you. For example, a person may have a lifelong pattern of conflicting with powerful figures, such as bosses or lovers, or even with powerful forces, such as chronic illnesses. He or she needs to learn how to eventually go beyond conflicting with powerful people or forces and actually become powerful. In this example, awareness of the pattern of conflict helps the person enter into the feelings of being oppressed by powerful people. The awareness process is extended to then explore the energy and experience of the “other,” in this case, a powerful one, and ultimately the hidden power inside oneself. In the relationship work, an example might be a couple who experiences conflicts around contact. One partner wants more contact, the other less. Awareness work here might begin to uncover that the partner who wants contact also has a part of self that needs space, and that the partner who wants space has unexpressed needs for contact. With support to integrate these marginalized parts of self, such discoveries can begin to resolve even long-term polarized conflicts. In my experience, most people find that this work brings greater awareness, fullness of being, and more choice that leads to positive developments in their lives, relationships and work in the world.
